CIFKM has to assign faculties to the users, such as registering the new users, creating user groups, creating templates or using them, etc.
The elementary faculties are not assigned directly to the users, nor to the groups of users, but rather they are grouped in different classes of roles. Any elementary faculty may be present in different roles; there are no limitations in this regard.
The definition of the types of roles and their content is the task of the administrators.
Types of roles
- User roles. These are the different groupings of specific faculties that may be assigned to the users at the personal level, depending on their position or responsabilities in the company, either in the process of creation, or later. They contain basic faculties such as the registration of new users, the creation of templates, user groups, types of messages, etc.
- Group roles. These are the different groupings of specific faculties that may be configured, to be assigned to users or groups of users in reference to a specific “group of users”, related either to the specific administration of the “group of users” or the management of “Data Smart Boxes” in which the user group is inserted. They concern who may use the group, add or remove users to/from it, assign roles, etc. or act over “Smart Boxes” in which the group is inserted. The roles may be assigned in the process of creation of the group or later.
- Template roles. These are the different groupings of specific faculties that one may configure, to be assigned to groups of users, related to the specific administration of each template. They concern who may use the template, modify it, assign roles over it, etc.
- “Data Smart Box” roles. These are the different groupings of specific faculties that one may configure, to be assigned to user groups, related to the specific administration of each “Data Smart Box”. They concern who may view and consult it, modify it, assign roles over it, etc.
What do they solve?
The system may solve any need, but normally in many organizations, one adopts a simplified role solution that consits in determining who may: (1) use/consult, (2) modify, (3) add or remove users, assign roles, and eliminate.
